FOR INDIVIDUALS
(Online delivery)
Self-directed exercises accessible 24/7 over 12 weeks
Isometric sketching is used extensively in design, engineering and architecture. This course will help you blend creativity and technical drawing to be able to read, interpret and create Isometric drawings.
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
This course is for you if you feel you want to:
Gain professional advantage by being able to sketch as part of your work
Destroy the limiting belief that you can’t draw
Gift your son or daughter drawing skills to differentiate them at college
Begin a new strand of continued personal growth
Access architecture or engineering ideas with no previous experience
Sketch in meetings
Gain basic skills for your IStructE Chartership exam
Have directed drawing lessons with an award-winning drawing expert
Find a new source of excitement and challenge in your retirement
Assert greater authority by being a DT teacher who draws
WHAT WILL I BE ABLE TO DO?

Free-form sketching on an isometric grid
Crating
How to make a Third Angle Projection drawing
How to read 2d information and turn it into a 3d sketch,
In Part 2, your cognitive skills will be strengthened with spatial rotation exercises and games to spot and draw the differences between simple geometric volumes. Your hand skills and muscle memory will be exercised to improve cognition with trace-over techniques. You will learn how to:
Draw multiples in isometric
Make 3d section cuts
Use your mind’s eye to rotate volumes
Draw curved geometry
In Part 3 you will apply what you have learnt to:
Make drawings of a 1:20 scale Jacuzzi Housing
Draw a window and roof scheme in section
Draw a steel detail encased in cement
In Part 4 you will see drawings made by structural, civic, and electrical engineers to see how they use Isometric drawing to help visualise ideas and solutions in their daily workflow.
